A sterling silver weighted domino desk accessory. This curious and delightful piece is made in the form of a large domino. The number nine is cut out of the silver, and backed by a black wool. There is a center brass nail head that keeps the piece attached to the weighted interior, along with four small silver pins along the frame edge. There is a hand engraved retailer mark on one side for 'Thornhill & Co. Ltd.'. Thornhill was a premier retail store in London, selling the finest and most novel items established in 1810, sadly shutting their doors for the last time in 1912. The English hallmarks are a little worn, but it is possibly made by Harris Adelstein, the leopard head for being made in London, England, and date letter 1899.
