This shawl brings up memories of a very creative aunt of mine. She created/baked tortes like you would not believe. So I called this shawl Lotte in her honor, as I remember one of my faves, a yummy peach torte with a turquoise colored frosting. Child hood memories are the best aren't they?
The shawl is a rectangular shape with a fun and easy to knit wavy pattern going all around the "cake", followed by a simple stockinette body. The finishing touch or "frosting" is done with a contrasting I-cord bind off.
The blocked shawl measures 52" in length and 12" in height. The pattern is fully written, has a how to do the I-cord bind off video link and also offers a lace chart.
The knit kits include
- One full Pebbles skein. Each skein is hand wound, holds 160 yards (about 57 grams), consisting of 3 strands of yarns with two thick and thin cottons, adding the pebble textures and a straight smooth mercerized cotton providing stability and together they create a DK weight yarn.
- A mini skein of Pebbles with 32 yards in a contrasting color.
- The printed pattern and emailed PDF file.
- All packaged in a convenient project bag.
